Artist Statement
As a multidisciplinary artist, weaver, and energy healer, my work explores the intersection of ancient wisdom, ecological awareness, and technological innovation. Weaving serves as a bridge between traditional craft and computational processes, envisioning a balance between technology and organic systems.
Rooted in global textile traditions, my practice is shaped by immersive training in South America, where I received advanced initiations in shamanic lineages involving plant medicine and ancestral weaving techniques. This experience infuses my work with themes of healing, transformation, and the interplay of past and future.
Using a digitally operated TC-2 Jacquard handloom—a descendant of early binary machines—I merge historical craftsmanship with digital aesthetics. My imagery blends plant-inspired motifs with motherboard-like patterns, reflecting the dialogue between nature and technology. Symbolic references to circuitry, digital glitches, and electromagnetic fields parallel my explorations in shamanic energy work. Integrating natural plant-dyed fibers with synthetic threads, I examine the dualities of tradition and innovation, mysticism and computation.
Honoring the sacred histories of textile arts, I have studied with master weavers from Mayan, Quechua, and Scandinavian traditions and been initiated into the Shipibo-Conibo lineage. My training in sound healing and ceremonial work deepens the energetic impact of my art, weaving together terrestrial wisdom and technological evolution. Through this integration, I explore the transformative potential of weaving as both an ancient spiritual practice and a contemporary medium for cultural and technological dialogue.
